Arkitip curates KRINK Sleeve for Incase.

Yesterday, Arkitip announced the release of a shinny new collaboration between the magazine, ink dripper Craig “KR” Costello of KRINK and slick protectors of Apple products, Incase.
Today I received the info that their issue #30 which featured the work of Costello and came with a special KRINK/Sharpy is on sale for $15 in the occasion of the special launch.

The KRINK sleeve is available for MacBook and MacBook Pro 15 In. for $70.95.
Having received and loving the previous sleeve their worked on with Incase for their issue #41 I have to say that this new collaboration seems to have brought to life another beautiful object. Soon, the same sleeve, but for grocery shopping!

Kozyndan, Porous Walker and Evan Hecox in Print.

A few books and bits I have come across recently.

Kozyndan are currently having a solo exhibition at Vallery. The Barcelona based space published quite a lovely catalogue for the occasion.

From Dan’s Flickr:

__ We decided to use the catalog to kind of break down one of our panoramics. The bulk of the 60 page book is details of all the characters and narratives in the Panoramic we did for the exhibition. We talk about the thought (or lack there of) that lay behind each of them, to help give people a better understanding of how we work or where our work is coming from thematically.

You can get the book for 6 euros. The exhibition runs until July 31st.

Porous Walker collaborated with HUF with a limited edition signed silkscreen posters and t-shirts which are available here at their LA store since this weekend. Porous definitely pulls off the Summer Pussy Shaving Chic. F anyone?

The piece is a 3 color silk screen print on Neenah Environment paper, 16 x 20 inches, edition of 200 signed and numbered by the artist, $125 unframed.

Arkitip vs MacBook Air.

It’s been a while since my last separated at birth post! And here I receive the announcement for Arkitip’s upcoming issue, 45 featuring some of their favorite usual suspects Cody Hudson, Evan Hecox, and Todd St. John.
I was thinking about making some jokes about the whole magazine in an envelope thing because when I saw that bright red picture, it was screaming the thinest magazine is hiding in this envelope! Go get it!
I won’t say it though.
Jokes aside, once again this new issue looks fabulously crafted and promises to bring some delicious work. You can see/hear Evan Hecox talk about his own contribution here.

Update: I forgot to mention that Hecox is currently having a solo show at Kinsey/DesForges which closes this Saturday, the 22nd. My shots are in my drive, expect to see them appear around here soon.

Upcoming events.

Self-Initiated Work by CalArts Design Alumni, Students, and Faculty (24700 McBean Parkway, Valencia) and it’s taking place tonight from 7pm to 12am.
You will also find a temporary shop with items such as t-shirts, prints, bags.. by featured designers (Tiffany Malakooti, Geoff McFettridge…)

I doubt I will be able to make it to Gallery Nucleus for this one. I really wish I could though. I really like James Jean and I’ve only seen one piece of his work in person so far and it was at New Image Art Gallery during The Drama Show.
So I suggest that you go have a look at his works, as well as his online store.. If only this sexy Green Arrow sketch wasn’t sold…
